Introducing the Exercise Ball by 1818 Fight, a clinically robust, anti-burst training device designed to support neuromuscular control, progressive loading, and functional rehabilitation across varied use environments. Its construction and surface design allow for high-frequency use in both clinical and commercial settings, offering dimensional stability, pressure control, and multi-surface compatibility.
The ball is manufactured from thick-gauge, BPA-free PVC with high tensile and tear resistance, capable of supporting dynamic loads up to 270kg. In the event of puncture, the anti-burst material is engineered to release air slowly, minimising abrupt collapse and reducing the risk of secondary injury during use. A matte finish with concentric ring patterning provides consistent tactile feedback and enhances friction against training mats, wooden floors, or textured garments, thereby improving grip and reducing lateral displacement during exercise.
Each unit is equipped with a secure-fitting plug and high-seal valve system to minimise air leakage during prolonged use. The valve is recessed to reduce obstruction during rolling or contact-based movements. Inflation is performed using the included manual hand pump; the inflation protocol recommends an initial fill to 80% of full volume, followed by a 24-hour rest period to allow the polymer to stretch and stabilise, then topping up to final pressure. This two-stage inflation process supports long-term air retention and reduces overstretching of the outer wall over time.
Users can fine-tune internal pressure to adjust compliance based on the functional requirement: softer inflation for joint unloading and instability training, firmer inflation for strength-based bodyweight loading. The ball maintains structural responsiveness across a range of room temperatures and is suitable for indoor environments between 10°C and 30°C. While not intended for abrasive outdoor surfaces, the material resists standard wear from repeated static positioning, rolling, or wall-based exercises.
The surface accommodates supine, prone, quadruped, and seated applications. It is widely used in spinal articulation drills, pelvic control exercises, shoulder and hip stability protocols, and general proprioceptive training. The ball can also substitute for static seating in workplace or clinical scenarios, encouraging micro-adjustments in trunk position and sustained low-level core activity during prolonged sitting. In motor retraining and balance work, its reactive deformation under load creates a controlled instability that challenges joint coordination and improves sensory feedback loops.
To support hygiene in shared or clinical spaces, the PVC surface can be wiped with a damp cloth or disinfected with non-corrosive cleaning agents. Ball size selection follows standard anthropometric guidelines: 55cm diameter suits users 150–165cm tall, 65cm suits 166–180cm, and 75cm suits users over 180cm. All sizes are available in neutral black, grey, or blue finishes.
This tool is appropriate for use in physical therapy, neurological rehabilitation, occupational health, functional conditioning, and general strength and mobility training contexts requiring consistent pressure response, high load capacity, and safe instability.
Please Note: Before using your exercise ball, we recommend wiping it down with a clean, dry or slightly damp cloth. A light protective sealant has been applied to preserve the ball during storage and transit. Wiping it down helps prevent transfer onto clothing or surfaces during use.
